We absolutely love Mexico City and hope you will too!

In Summer 2022, Anna Belle and Eddie spent nearly a month in Mexico City; it is one of their all time favorite places. The food, history, culture, and gorgeous weather are unmatched.

If you are able to extend your trip either before or after the wedding (or find the time and energy DURING the wedding weekend), we highly recommend the following activities and restaurants.

TOP PICK!

Hot Air Balloon Over Teotihuacan

Truly one of the most breathtaking experiences. This is Anna Belle's top pick!

WARNING: this is a SUNRISE excursion, so it requires being up ~4:30AM. Worth it to explore Teotihuacan itself after taking the hot air balloon.

TOP PICK!

Floating Gardens of Xochimilco

Recommended only if you have a bit of time to spare. Xochimilco is a UNESCO World Heritage site located south of Mexico City (about ~1.5 hours away) that is known for its canals, gardens, and floating gardens. But really, it's a party bus on water.

TOP PICK!

Local Markets Tour

Yes, both Eddie AND Anna Belle ate crickets. This is Eddie's top pick!

The local markets are humongous, with so much to see and eat. It is best to go with a guide, as they are able to easily navigate the markets and bring you to the coolest spots.

TOP PICK!

Lucha Libre

Hilariously entertaining. Lucha libre is a traditional wrestling style in Mexico known for its colorfully masked performers.

While there are two big lucha libre arenas in Mexico City, Arena México is the more famous of the two (and pictured here).

You can purchase tickets right at the ticket counter minutes before the show; no need for reservations.
